Fiberglass and gelcoat usually develop a dull, faded or chalky appearance because of oxidation. What Is Gelcoat Oxidation?

On many fiberglass boats and RVs, the visible exterior is a gelcoat surface over the fiberglass structure.

When new and well protected, gelcoat has a smooth, glossy appearance.
