25 years ago, our founder asked a simple question:

Is there a better way to prevent fading and restore shine to boats than boat wax?

After years of experimenting in his Florida backyard, he eventually developed the patented formula for Poli Glow®.

The water-based acrylic polymer binds to the gelcoat on your fiberglass surface to prevent damage and create a durable, glossy finish.

But before applying Poli Glow®’s high-gloss shine, it’s important to first remove the stains, grime, and discoloration that have accumulated from use and the elements.

This process is called “oxidation,” and it’s the cause of the fading and discoloration you notice on all boats with time.

The Poli Glow® Kit provides you with all the tools you need to first remove mild oxidation, then apply the most brilliant shine on the market.

Transform the look of an aging, faded boat back to its original colors and shine. You’ll also protect it against future oxidation and staining from dirt, oil, moisture, and harmful UV radiation.

Unlike waxing, you don’t have to use buffers—just wipe Poli Glow® on with the Poli-Mitt™ Applicator and let it dry. Poli Glow® lasts for years with proper maintenance instead of growing cloudy and faded after only a few months.

For over 25 years, Poli Glow® has been restoring and protecting boats all over the world, keeping them looking glossy and new.

Experience the #glossthatsboss for yourself.

Please note: Poli Prep™ and Poli Ox™, which are included in this kit, are safe for use on the following surfaces:

  • Fiberglass
  • Gelcoat
  • Clearcoat
  • Metals
  • Glass
  • Rubber
  • Plastic
  • Vinyl decals
  • Most automotive or fortified paints

Poli Prep™ is not safe for use on the following surfaces:
  • Brand new, unoxidized surfaces that still have a gloss
  • Household acrylic and urethane based paints
  • Ink printed or silk-screen decals and graphics

The Poli Glow® Kit is a suitable starter kit for boat with mild oxidation.

If your boat has moderate to severe oxidation, we recommend you purchase our Poli Glow® Deluxe Kit., which has an extra compound that helps remove heavier oxidation and stains.

If you are unsure how to classify the oxidation level of your RV or camper, please contact us.

When to purchase a Poli Glow® Kit:
You have an boat with mild oxidation and fading on the gelcoat that you would like to restore.

One Poli Glow® Kit will usually cover about 350 square feet of surface area, or around a 28-foot boat.

If your boat is longer than 28 feet, or you have more than 350 square feet of surface to cover, you will need additional bottles of Poli Glow® and Poli Prep™..

For first time applications, you must remove any oxidation by preparing the surface with Poli Prep™ and Poli Ox™ before applying Poli Glow®.

A properly prepared surface should look uniformly dull, without color changes or blotches. Some of the colors will still appear bleached or faded until Poli Glow has been applied.

If you are applying maintenance coats of Poli Glow®, wash and dry the surface first with Poli Wash™. Remove any waxes or spray on ceramics by adding Poli Wash Pro™.

General application instructions:

  • Do not apply in the rain or on windy days

  • Avoid direct sunlight if possible

  • Ambient temperature should be between 65 and 90 degrees fahrenheit

  • Low to mid humidity—high humidity can cause the product to streak if not dry

  • Keep out of rain for 48 hours after application

Application Steps:
  1. Put on disposable gloves to protect your hands.
  2. Cover ink-printed or silk-screen decals and graphics with plastic and tape.
  3. Wet the surface of your boat with water.
  4. Dilute the Poli Prep™ concentrate 3:1 water to product in a trigger spray bottle. Spray the solution onto the surface and scrub vigorously with the non-abrasive scrub pad, then rinse thoroughly with water. Repeat as necessary until oxidation has been removed.
  5. The surface should look uniformly dull without color changes or blotches. Some of the colors will still appear bleached until Poli Glow® has been applied.
  6. Let your boat air dry or use our 550 GSM Microfiber Towel to dry your boat.
  7. Moisten the Poli-Mitt™ Applicator with water and wring it out so that it is damp and not soaked.
  8. Shake well, and drizzle several lines of Poli Glow® onto the Poli-Mitt™ Applicator. Wring gently to evenly distribute the Poli Glow. Do not soak the mitt.
  9. Apply Poli Glow® in vertical or horizontal strokes (not circles) and work in four to six foot sections.
  10. Poli Glow® should be applied in thin coats, allowing several minutes for each coat to dry in between applications. Apply the next coat when the surface is not tachy and doesn’t feel wet, about 1-2 minutes.
  11. Allow to cure for 48 hours.

The recommended number of coats of Poli Glow® to apply depends on the UV index where you live. In general, you will need at least 6-8 coats for a first-time application.

Please refer to the Poli Glow® Application and Maintenance Guide for detailed guidance.

At least once per year, wash your boat with Poli Wash™, treat any oxidation spots, and re-apply 3-4 coats of Poli Glow® to maintain your glossy shine.

When Poli Glow® is first applied, it can last up to a year or more in certain
conditions.

However, Poli Glow® was never meant to be a one-time application. Eventually, the Poli Glow® surface will oxidize like any other product or structure left out in the elements (albeit more slowly than alternatives).

The reason to regularly maintain the Poli Glow® finish is to prevent oxidation and the need to do heavier work when it does finally break down.

If maintained properly, Poli Glow® can last five to six years, and the heavier work
can be avoided.

Where you live determines how often you should apply maintenance coats. Boats in tropical climates require more frequent maintenance than boats in temperate ones.

Please refer to the Poli Glow® Application and Maintenance Guide for detailed guidance and to review our Poli Glow® Coverage Chart.
