Poli Strip™ is a concentrated stripper and degreaser designed to remove Poli Glow®.

You know all the stains, dirt, tar, grime, old wax, spray-on ceramics, mold, mildew and chalkiness that accumulates on your boat?

It’s all caused by a process called “oxidation.”

UV radiation from the sun breaks down the compounds in your gelcoat, making it more susceptible to dirt and grime, and giving it that tell-tale chalky appearance.

It’s what destroys the glossy shine all new boats have.

The good news is you can get that shine back.

Poli Glow® is a proprietary, water-based acrylic formula that binds to the gelcoat on your fiberglass surface to create a durable, glossy finish.

Unlike boat waxes and other gelcoat restoration solutions, Poli Glow® lasts for 5-6 years as long as a few yearly maintenance coats are applied.

But nothing lasts forever, and Poli Glow® is not an exception. After 5-6 years, we’ve found that the deepest layers of Poli Glow® start to break down.

So once every 5-6 years, we recommend completely stripping all the Poli Glow® from your boat and starting fresh.

That’s why we created Poli Strip™. It easily removes Poli Glow® and any oxidation that may have accumulated to create a clean surface for you to reapply Poli Glow® and maintain a brilliant shine.

Poli Strip™ is safe for use on the following surfaces:

  • Fiberglass
  • Gelcoat
  • Clear coat
  • Metals
  • Glass
  • Rubber
  • Plastic
  • Vinyl decals
  • Most automotive or fortified paints

Poli Strip™ is not safe for use on the following surfaces:
  • Brand new, unoxidized surfaces that still have a gloss
  • Household acrylic and urethane based paints
  • Ink printed or silk-screen decals and graphics
  • Bottom paint

For over 25 years, Poli Glow® has been sealing and protecting boats all over the world, keeping them looking glossy and new.

Experience the #glossthatsboss for yourself.

If this is your first time using Poli Glow® products to get rid of oxidation, we strongly recommend you purchase our Poli Glow® Deluxe Kit..

The Deluxe Kit includes everything you need to restore and seal the gelcoat on your boat.

Poli Strip™ is only necessary if you have already applied Poli Glow® to your boat.

When to purchase a bottle of Poli Strip™:

  • It’s been 5-6 years since you first applied Poli Glow®, and it’s time to to strip it all off and reapply
  • You want to touch up some specific areas that already have Poli Glow® (please refer to the Poli Glow® Application and Maintenance Guide)
  • You’re dealing with severe oxidation

The primary purpose of Poli Strip™ is to remove Poli Glow®. It can also help to remove stubborn oxidation that isn’t responding to Poli Prep™ or Poli Ox™.

Directions for use:

  1. Dilute Poli Strip™ concentrate at a 3:1 ratio of water to product in a trigger spray bottle.
  2. Cover bottom paint and ink-printed or silk-screen graphics and decals with plastic and tape.
  3. Wet the boat’s surface with water.
  4. Spray the diluted Poli Strip™ solution onto the surface and scrub vigorously with the non-abrasive white scrub pad with blue handle.
  5. You will feel the Poli Glow® start to loosen and the surface will turn a milky color as the Poli Glow® liquifies
  6. Use the ultra-fine sanding pad for tougher areas.
  7. Rinse thoroughly with water and repeat as necessary. Poli Glow® usually comes off in layers and so repeat application of Poli Strip™ may be necessary.

Please refer to the Poli Glow® Application and Maintenance Guide for detailed guidance.

At least once per year, wash your boat with Poli Wash™, treat any oxidation spots, and re-apply 3-4 coats of Poli Glow® to maintain your glossy shine.

When Poli Glow® is first applied, it can last up to a year or more in certain conditions.

However, Poli Glow® was never meant to be a one-time application. Eventually, the Poli Glow® surface will oxidize like any other product or structure left out in the elements (albeit more slowly than alternatives).

The reason to regularly maintain the Poli Glow® finish is to prevent oxidation and the need to do heavier work when it does finally break down.

If maintained properly, Poli Glow® can last five to six years, and the heavier work can be avoided.

Where you live determines how often you should apply maintenance coats. Boats in tropical climates require more frequent maintenance than boats in temperate ones.

Please refer to the Poli Glow® Application and Maintenance Guide for detailed guidance.
