Poli Glow® vs. Other RV Restoration Kits: Which Product Line Delivers the Best Shine?

Everyone loves the deep, lustrous shine of a new RV fresh off the lot. But you didn’t buy an RV just to look at it… and that shine will naturally start to fade once you put some miles on the tires. If you’re dealing with this problem, don’t stress! There are steps you can take to restore, maintain and protect your RV’s exterior surfaces (and get the shine back). Poli Glow® offers a specializedRV Restoration Kit that has helped thousands of owners restore their rigs. Overview of the Poli Glow® RV Restoration Kit

Poli Glow® is a water-based acrylic polymer that provides a high-gloss, long-lasting finish as an alternative to traditional RV waxes and ceramic coatings.

It adheres tightly to your vehicle’s surfaces (which means you don’t have to re-apply it every few months) but doesn’t form a chemical bond (which means you can remove it with a chemical stripper alone).

We designed the Poli Glow® system to reverse existing oxidationand slow the rate of new oxidation. Our proprietary RV polish makes your rig more resistant to UV radiation, water spots, staining and other forms of environmental damage.

ThePoli Glow® Deluxe RV Restoration Kit comes with everything you need to restore your RV’s exterior to pristine condition:

  • Poli Prep™ concentrated cleaning formula

  • Poli Ox™ targeted oxidation remover

  • Poli Glow® RV polish

  • Poli-Mitt™ Applicator (for applying Poli Glow®)

  • Non-Abrasive Scrub Pad (for general cleaning)

  • Ultra-Fine Sanding Pad (for heavy stains and detail work)

There’s no buffing or polishing required, just a simple three-part process you can easily handle yourself.

How To Restore Your Rig With Poli Glow®

Part One: Prep

Start your RV restoration job by creating a clean and uniform surface for the application of Poli Glow®.

  1. Make sure your RV is clean. Cover bottom paint and ink-printed graphics with plastic and tape.

  2. In a trigger spray bottle, dilutePoli Prep™ concentrate at a ratio of three parts water to one part product.

  3. Wet the RV’s surface with water.

  4. Spray the diluted Poli Prep™ solution onto the surface and scrub vigorously with the non-abrasive scrub pad. Use the ultra-fine sanding pad for tougher areas.

  5. Rinse thoroughly with water and repeat as necessary.

Part Two: Remove Oxidation

Treat areas of moderate to heavy oxidation withPoli Ox™ oxidation remover for RVs. Simply sprinkle Poli Ox™ onto the damp non-abrasive scrub pad or ultra-fine sanding pad, wet the affected area and scrub until the oxidation is removed.

Part Three: Polish and Seal

Once you’ve uncovered the surface colors of your RV and gotten rid of that nasty oxidized layer, usePoli Glow® to seal your gelcoat with a hard, weather-resistant shiny coating.

  1. Moisten thePoli-Mitt Applicator™ with water and wring it out so that it’s damp, not soaked.

  2. Shake the bottle of Poli Glow® and drizzle several lines onto the applicator. Wring gently to evenly distribute the product. Do not soak the mitt.

  3. Working in 4-6 foot sections, apply Poli Glow® to your RV in vertical or horizontal strokes.

  4. Apply several thin coats, allowing each coat to dry between applications. Most RVs require at least 6-8 coats of Poli Glow® for a first use, but you may need to apply more coats if you live or travel in a hot, humid climate.Refer to this coating chart for specific guidance based on your local area.

  5. Let your RV cure in a dry place for 48 hours.

  6. Hit the road with more shine and less stress!

What RV Owners Are Saying About Poli Glow®

Here’s what your fellow owners have to say about their Poli Glow® experiences:

Phenomenal! Product made my RV and boat look new

“Product was great at cleaning and the shine is better than when new” – Warren M.

How great!

“The prep removes old dingy layers of stain on fiberglass, and is fast and easy to use. The powder cleaner is great for removing stubborn stains. The poli glow coating is easy to apply, and leaves a nice protective finish. No wax. Periodic washing is a lot easier and effective. Thanks” – Ralph B.

Great product to restore RV shine.

“The Poli Glow product is a great value for the money. After cleaning the surface of the camper, Poli Glow is easily applied and you can judge the results with the before and after pictures. I have used other products in the past, including compounds and waxes. Poli Glow is by far the best we have used. Just remember, multiple layers are required for the desired results. But again, the application process is quite easy.” – John

Which RV Restoration System Is the Best?

There are plenty of RV care and restoration products on the market, but your rig deserves only the best. Here are how a few popular options stack up.

Poli Glow® vs. Meguiar’s

The Meguiar's RV Fiberglass Restoration Kit is a three-step system to de-oxidize, polish and protect fiberglass gelcoats. Unlike Poli Glow®, it cannot be used with aluminum “stick and tin” RVs. Both the Meguiar's and Poli Glow® systems contain UV inhibitors to protect against radiation from the sun.

The first step in this system involves using the Meguiar's M49 Heavy Duty Oxidation Remover (ideally with a rotary buffer or dual action polisher) to remove moderate oxidation. By contrast, Poli Ox™ RV oxidation remover effectively removes even heavy oxidation with no power tools needed.

Once the oxidation is gone, Meguiar's High Gloss Polish “feeds” the gelcoat with a compound of oils. Then the entire surface is sealed with wax to protect the newly polished gelcoat and enhance shine. It’s a simple system that effectively delivers a high-shine finish in the short term.

However, RV waxes require frequent reapplications (every 3-4 months and more often in harsh conditions). If you don’t stay on top of routine upkeep, your vehicle may lose its shine and begin to oxidize again. With Poli Glow®, you don’t need to worry about that because this polish alternative seals your RV’s gelcoat and stays in place for up to six years. Just make time for a few annual maintenance coats per year, and you’re good to go!

Poli Glow® vs. 3M Perfect-It Gelcoat Medium Cutting Compound and Wax

3M™ Perfect-It Gelcoat Medium Cutting Compound and Wax is an all-in-one product, not a system. Designed to refine, polish and wax a vehicle’s gelcoat in one step, it’s favored by those who want a streamlined approach.

Intended mainly for industrial use, this product works well on oxidized surfaces. It can be applied by hand on small areas, but a rotary buffer is recommended for best results. Poli Glow® is designed for DIY use and doesn’t require an electric buffer/polisher.

While the 3M™ product does leave a waxy finish, its primary job is oxidation removal. Consequently, the shine quality and durability may not be at the same level as a specialized RV polish.

Poli Glow® vs. Other RV Restoration Products

Finding RV-specific restoration products can be tricky. While a quick Internet search turns up tons of cheap “RV waxes” and oxidation removers, some of these were actually designed for general automotive use.

This matters because recreational vehicles require a higher level of protection and specialized care. RVs get much heavier use than a typical car, and it’s essential to use the best products to preserve the integrity of your vehicle’s fiberglass gelcoat.

In our personal experience, Poli Glow® leads the pack when it comes to shine quality, ease of application, durability, and all-around great results. We might be a tad biased, but wenever use anything else to care for our own rigs.

Take a look at this comparison chart and you’ll quickly see why:

Why Poli Glow® Is the Best RV Restoration System

When it comes to your RV, “good enough” simply isn’t good enough. Your RV is your home away from home, and you want it to look great every single day (not only right after a wax job).

Whether your rig is heavily oxidized or nearly new, Poli Glow®’s RV restoration and care products help you return it to top condition and keep it that way. Here’s why you’ll love the Poli Glow® product line:

High-Gloss Shine That Lasts

Anyone can slap a coat of wax on their RV and field a bunch of compliments for a day or two. But the real flex is to drive through a rainstorm, down a few dirt roads, over some salt flats and around a muddy campground… andstill having a rig that shines underneath it all. That’s what Poli Glow® delivers.

Our proprietary RV polish penetrates and seals the layers of gelcoat and fiberglass, providing a deep glossy shine that’s unlike anything else on the market. It lasts for years, not months, with minimal annual maintenance.

Easy, Hassle-Free Application

Restoring your rig with Poli Glow® is a simple weekend project. All it takes is three steps: prep the surface, remove oxidation, and apply Poli Glow® polish for protection and shine. No precisely timed applications or electric buffers required– just a few quality products and some elbow grease.

Lower Long-Term Costs

It’s no secret that RVing isn’t a cheap hobby (just ask our wives). But there’s no reason to spend more than you need to. Waxes may seem like the most cost-effective option up front, but the price of frequent re-applications adds up fast. Professional ceramic coatings offer more protection and last longer than waxes, but prices run in the thousands of dollars.

Poli Glow® is the best deal because it’s DIY-friendlyand designed to stay put for years. It’s an investment in your RV’s aesthetics and performance that can help you save some serious cash over the long term.

Restore Your RV’s Glory With Poli Glow®

Think back to when you first purchased your RV. It probably had a brilliant glossy finish that was almost impervious to wind, water and weather. When it got dirty, a quick blast with the hose was enough to make it shine again.

But over time, that protective outer layer slowly breaks down, resulting in a gelcoat that is more porous and vulnerable to damage. You may notice a chalky white finish, increased staining, water spots or an all-around lackluster appearance. This process, known as “oxidation”, happens to all recreational vehicles.

The good news is that with the right products in your arsenal, you can reverse oxidation and restore your RV. The Poli Glow® system doesn’t just remove surface defects; it also seals your gelcoat to slow the rate of future oxidation. And it delivers a brilliant glossy finish that’s absolutely out of this world!

With best-in-class durability, protection and shine, it’s no wonder that Poli Glow® has become a cult favorite in the RV community. But don’t take our word for it. Read what other people are saying. Then get your hands on the best restoration products for RVs and put yourself on the road to DIY success.
